Online Dating sites scam - Beware!
Hello fellow bros, i'm on dating sites to fish for some gems haha. but i've encountered quite a lot of scams along the way so i thought i ought to let fellow bros know so that they will be aware and not be scammed.
Some of you senior bros might already know of such scams, but there isn't any post around which compile such scams. i hope to put them all here so that everyone can read and provide some tools to spot scammers. Date last updated: 12/06/2014 List of dating sites (not exhaustive) : Zoosk tagged okcupid msn match.com okcupid Scam no. 1: Swinger Party scam Those on tagged are pretty familiar with this. First the lady on the profile adds you or chat with you and claim that they are models from overseas working for a company that is hosting a swinger party in singapore. Next they ask whether you want to join, if you want to you need to pay 9$ for membership fee which they promise will return once event is over. There will be costumes to buy which they say is optional. Next thing you know, after you register, they ask you to buy the costume to get into the party. if you say no, they say required for verification yadayada..... read more here : http://samsforum.com/showthread.php?t=271429 Scam no. 2: Fuck buddy scam I personally went through with this to see how real is it. Hope you guys appreciate it. So on the dating site, they message you again saying how hot you look in the picture and would like to know more about you. And provides typically a skype contact for you to add. (strike 1: usually people do not refer to other chat methods) . The one i received was : xkatiemorgan on skype. Next they give you a long intro of themselves making it look quite realistic. next they might ask you to exchange pictures, they send over hot nude pics of themselves (i've check the pictures online and its from a cam pornstar). She might even go the extra mile of trying to prove themselves to you. I personally asked her to write my id and the date on a piece of paper and take photo with it. (i'm impressed by this actually, looks very real handwriting) After she is done proving, she say she want to be your fuck buddy. But before you can meet up with her, she ask you to go to cam sites to vote for her so that she gets more popular and can stay longer in SG. So she redirects you to the following sites : preciouscam , lovetrap, bustyyoungwomen (aka mpa3.serveroverkill com) the sites are not linked to protect fellow bros. The sites are somewhat real in that they have cam models as well but don't be fooled to give your credit card details that will in turn charge you recurring of 30 USD/month !!! They know whether you have really entered the details because the mastermind of the ring is monitoring the registration from their server. Its a big scam ring. -Add-on : there are variants of this scam, they will try to befriend you, saying they are foreigner here looking for job etc. then when you get close to the intimate stage like asking to meet up, she ask to help her vote on the cam website. ( for me is she say she need the vote to continue using her webcam for free -.- seriously) She prove she's real by showing me a video of her when i video call her on skype, it shows her alright , but its a pre-recorded cam session. I couldn't find her online but pretty sure she's another cam model. 1st link provided to me to vote is : www caminyourcity com/vpa.php?r=2003921&t=1&g=default In the end i told her, since we meeting up she can guide me personally, but then she say not going to meet up because not voting.... haha I did not follow through this scam this time. Scam no. 3 : FJ scam *i'm not very sure about this one but was mentioned by lots of senior Taggers to be a scam Another one "famous" on tagged, basically they have a profile of a girl staying in SG. They would post their no. for whatsapp and ask you to talk to them there. Alternatively they would post something like: " want to meet me tonight? " If you pm them they would ask you to pay them through western union before you can fk them. They use western union because of unable to open local bank acct as they are foreign student here ( which is total bullshit) They would reply on whatsapp something like this : "$100/- 3hrs unlimited shot sex include massage shower blowjob deepthroat.. $50 to manager posb account as my salary per customer per day, $50 to me on hand after sex. Location:......" *for the whatsapp one, i'm not sure whether its credible, any bros willing to try can pm me for contact* Scam no.4 : Free spa I found this scam on tagged, may appear on other sites as well, do take note. So what happen was, there is this profile that put up a status saying "free spa. pm me" after you pm them they will claim that there is a free spa promotion ongoing, the location and shop they give me was Body contours at 30 hill street. I checked online and body contours is a legit spa chain. Then comes the catch, she ask if i was working, and whether i'm 23. Apparently i need to be working and 23 years old to enjoy the free spa. So i called the body contours hotline, the lady was blur when i ask her about the free spa and tell me to quote the source. so i knew that this "free spa" was fake. The profile woman claims that she is the admin. This happened with another profile as well. So bros out there do be cautious with this "free spa" promotion. *I did not follow through this scam to know the full story, but likelyhood that they will ask for your credit card details etc. to confirm you are 23. Add as friend and she will tell you to add her on KiK to chat easily. Usually she would have a hot profile pic. For those who don't know, Kik is a popular messaging app in US. Then they will spam you with links or try to make you sign up for porn webcam sites. Apparently, according to hdwz article its also happening in snapchat. How to spot fake profile : http://www.wikihow.com/Spot-an-Online-Dating-Scammer Also if you see multiple profiles with the same story/info/taglines , likely they are fake too, i've spotted quite a few How to see if the picture is taken from other people : go to http://images.google.com/ and use their search by image function. (thats how i found out the nude pics were from a pornstar) How to see if picture is photoshopped : http://lifehacker.com/5644259/how-to...oshopped-image http://imageedited.com/ (that's how i found out the pics are edited to look like real handwriting) and also an average real photograph shud be at least 1MB, not 76kb .jpg images How to see if its a scam website: http://www.scamadviser.com/ http://www.scamvoid.com/ Do take the results with a pinch of salt because it might flag some sites as trustworthy ( they might be legit sites but under the same scam ring) Things to take note when opening links: do not open links by left clicking them. always right click, select "copy link location" and paste in browser first. Look at the link, it might be very different! Thats all i have for now. Hope you guys appreciate my effort in writing this.
